About MANEMAXX/TemBond
MANEMAXX™ Hair Extensions with the TemBond®
bonding product is offered in a do-it-yourself hair extension complete
system kit. The safe, patent-pending hair extension bond is a fast-cooling,
warm-dip with NO adhesives.
The hair extensions are placed strand by strand
with a bonding product that forms AROUND the hairs to hold them
in place without attaching to your own hair! There are no glues,
no chemicals or chemical removers.
This system was created to imitate the results
achieved with fusion type strand hair extension methods but without
the super high costs or danger of hair loss from the glues, over-extended
wear time and difficult removal.
Your hair extensions are secure until you remove
them. When you're ready to remove the hair extensions, simply bend
to break the bond and your extension easily falls away without added
expense, chemical removers or pulling and tearing at your hair!
Product Descriptions

you will need for your strand-by-strand hair extension install with
the exception of a pair of scissors. (We figure you already have
those!)
The complete kits sold by MANEMAXX include:
- Your choice of extension hair
- 3 ounces TemBond for about 2 full head applications
- Portable heater
- Step-by-step full color instructions
- Tips and tricks card
- Pre-application steps
- Application DVD
- Fine-tooth comb for sectioning
- Full size hair extension looper brush for styling your extensions

MANEMAXX carries 3 options of extension hair, one of which is to
be included in your complete kits. The hair extension system can
be purchased without hair which frees you up to choose your hair
in person at a beauty supply store or use hair you already have
handy.
It's good to note that we have researched and tested our hair products
thoroughly to bring you quality that is far better than what you
can purchase in a supply store, and in different price catagories
as well as different textures and application methods. We get no
complaints on our cared for hair :)
TemBond
The TemBond is packaged in 3 ounce "blocks." You are
free to melt this completely or a little at a time depending on
your use and preference. The TemBond is a glue-free, non-adhesive,
non-fusion hair extension bonding product. The ingredients are all,
or either, of cosmetic grade, natural, non-toxic, safe, or chemical-free.
If you are concerned with a reaction to the bond, please do a 24-48
hour allergy test before applying. Note that we have customers highly
allergic to other products wearing the TemBond with no effects.
The TemBond has a wax-like attribute that allows it to hold your
extension hair without actually attaching to the hair as in glue,
keratin, protein and fusion products. The bond is secure and strong
for many months without pulling or tearing at your hair, yet removes
in seconds. The TemBond is water resistant (not water-proof) and
the bonds can handle periods of time under water, as well as daily
washing. You will be careful not to disturb your bonds while the
hair around them is wet.
Some of the TemBond attributes for hair extension wear:
- Natural, non-toxic and chemical-free product
- Zero glues or adhesives
- A flexible state that allows for immediate wearing comfort,
no hard little balls of glue poking into your head
- No tools or harsh chemical removers needed
- Natural strand by strand wear, faster drying and more movement
- Fast cooling for less heat-time on your hair
- Inexpensive, around $20 an application
Removing TemBond: Strand-by-strand removal has never been
so easy!
Removing the TemBond is a snap. Simply bend the bond back and forth
to break and crumble the bond. Your extension will slip away from
your hair and the remaining residue will comb free.

About our Extension
Hair Products
MANEMAXX carries 3 options of hair to be included in your complete
kits.
- Basic Extension Hair
- Pre-bundled Strands
- Regal Remi Luxury Hair
The Basic Extension Hair (Asian on weft) is our
most cost effective extension hair product. You can get a full install
of hair typically for under $100. This is 100% human hair, soft
and tangle-free. The basic hair comes in 1 style, straight, which
can be worn with a soft body wave.
The Pre-bundled Strands (European pieces/strands,
no weft) remain an excellent seller due to its ease of applying
abilities. The Remy pre-measured strands save loads of time and
can possibly cut hours off of the length of a full head install.
The strands are most popular with our stylists and also excellent
for first-timers. You will have no errors with your bundle sizes
and the Strands will help you create perfect bonds from the get-go!
This hair comes in 4 styles and loads of colors, you're sure to
find yours! We do have a color ring available for purchase with
this hair.
The Regal Remi Luxury Hair (Indian on a weft)
speaks for itself. This colored virgin hair is excellent for super
long wear-time and many subsequent installs. It is perfectly tangle-free
through months of wear, healthy, soft, silky, a perfect match for
healthy, youthful hair and hey, if you don't already have it, why
not add it! This hair is a MANEMAXX favorite and the reviews are
100% outstanding. The hair comes in 5 styles and a small selection
of colors. There is almost always a backorder on this hair so get
it early and plan to be patient!

Our hair products: The differences
There is a difference in the sizes of the hair shaft depending
on the origin and processes the hair goes through. Here are the
photos of a couple of our hair products. The first is our Basic
hair. This is Asian/Chinese hair which has gone through processing
and contains coatings that lend to its thickness. This may, or may
not, be a huge deal for your blending. The hair is cost effective
and readily available due to it's ability to be mass produced. Our
basic hair is still of FAR better quality than what you will pay
more for at many beauty outlets including what is sold at Sally
Beauty Supply.

You can see in this particular shot that the Asian is double the
size of my own natural hair (which I've worn without any huge noticability.)
The second strand is our Regal Remi product. The Regal Remi is just
slightly thicker than my own natural thin hair, (see the image of
the hairs in the background shot.)
The Regal Remi is an Indian hair. It's cuticle is living and correct.
This is a TRUE Remi hair. Many suppliers claim Remy hair, and we,
as consumers are easily decieved by the statement. I, myself, even
when told a hair is Remy/cuticle-correct, won't advertise it as
such if I don't belive it.
The Regal Remi is hair that has been gently processed and left
in its natural state. This is virgin hair. The virgin hair is colored
to match the expected color of the extension hair line, #1, #1B,
#2, #4, etc. I, myself, have worn this hair for 16 weeks now and
have not experienced a single tangle from it.
This exclusive hair is far more difficult to get and keep in stock,
so if you order from the Regal Remi line, please expect to be patient
for your product to arrive. I don't advise you wait to order, as
a limited supply comes in from overseas and only in interment shipments,
thus we keep a first-come, first-served list for the Regal Remi.
If your wait gets too long or our expected product does not arrive,
we will always change your product for you, or refund your purchase.

Here's another. Above I've added the Strands hair to the comparison
and added the Basic Hair again. In the back-shot you can see the
basic is still a thicker shaft than my own, but in this sample all
3 strands are quite close when you view from a little more distance.
I'd have no issue blending any of these with my own hair, which
is marked natural.

Here's a closer look at our Strands product along with my natural
hair. This extension hair is a little thicker than my own but once
again I should have no issue with blending the 2 textures.

Hi, I am very interested in your
product, but I had a few questions. I have very thin baby fine hair
and I wanted to make sure that I could use your product with my
hair without damage. The hair I am wanting to use is also baby fine
soft hair... How much hair I could bond... Is there a safe ratio?
The hair extension system is noted to work well with thinner,
finer hair by our customers whose natural hair is that particular
texture. It is also totally non-damaging as opposed to most methods
or just in wearing hair extensions all together. We get many reports
of the natural hair getting longer and thicker while wearing the
extensions, something typically unheard of, or quite opposite,
to many other hair extension methods.
The bonds are very light and shouldn't cause any stress to your
hair at all. Keep your bundles small, 1/4 inch flat on a ruler.
How much hair is in the kit, and how wide is the piece that
you can purchase for high/lowlights? - can I get the kit without
the hair?
There is one full weft of hair included in the kit, (width varies
70-80 inches) 4 ounces. A half weft is added for high/lowlight,
35-40 inch weft, 2 ounces of extension hair. The hair is quality
100% human remi highest quality.
Yes, you can find the option to purchase
the TemBond® with the system and minus the hair.
Please note this is a strand application. We include wefted hair
in your kit so the extension hairs stay neat while you clip them
from OFF of their track. You may also select our Pre-measured
Strands. This will make for a quicker, easier install and is great
for first-timers and noted to be the favored product among stylists.
When choosing strands 16 inches and longer, you may want to add
a half pack when adding length to your own hair.
I was just wondering how much the
standard shipping rate is, and how long does it take for it to arrive?
For domestic packages we use trackable USPS as a carrier. Shipping
options which vary from 5-10 business days for $9.30-10.50. 1-3
business days for an additional rate are available at checkout.

Is the hair returnable even if I didn't open it? Because
I'm afraid the color won't match mine.
We cannot accept returns on hair products due to health reasons.
We also don't "resell" or use any product that has been
handled out of our sight. We have all basic colors available and
allow you to add your own highlights and lowlights. You would
be surprised that, as long as you get your color as close as possible,
a shade or two above or below, how the extension hair blends with
your own hair using the strand by stand method. I've used colors
I thought didn't precisely match and have been told the extensions
are completely unnoticeable. One of my customers calls the hair
magic. She says no matter what color you order it ends up blending.
You may want to cosider the purchase of a color
ring available for $30 here. You may keep or return your color
ring for a full credit toward your purchase.
When is my kit going to ship out?
Typically orders spend 2-3 days in transit once they leave the
warehouse which varies from 3-5 days. Some products do see delayed
shipping times. Please
read more on MANEMAXX shipping in our InfoCenter.
What is the difference between the
hair in the kits you sell?
We carry a basic extension hair, pre-measured strand and then
we have our Regal Remi Luxury line. Please read more about these
differences on this help page here.

Installing TemBond
MANEMAXX Hair Extension placement is just a matter of dipping
in our warm TemBond®and attaching/bonding small loose "bundles"
of the extension hairs to strands of your own hair 1/4 to 1/2 inch
from the scalp; no tools are needed and you're not using any glues
or adhesives to harm hair.

You'll leave some hair in the back and around the sides for hair
extension styling options (for example, to hide the hair extension
bond when wearing a ponytail.)
With the at-home version of our hair extension application you can
opt to do-it-yourself or with the help of a friend.
(We ask you to read through your instructions carefully and view
your application DVD so that you may collect ALL the needed information
to make you application a success. Do an application "test"
before applying.)
STYLING & COLORING
Your MANEMAXX DIY hair extension kit contains 100% human extension
hair that can be straightened, curled, even dyed, as if it were
your own!
Like other hair extension systems, holding the hair extension at
the bond while brushing is recommended, you don't want to stress
your own hair with the added weight of the extension hair.
You are free to use them, but do not put the heat of a straightener
or curling iron directly on the hair extension bond unless you want
to remove them.
A good rule is this, if your skin can handle the heat, so can your
bond. You wouldn't place the hot iron on your skin, right? Same
with your bond.
You may dye your extension hair along with your own hair but note
this could weaken bonds. The system also makes it easy to remove,
color, then reapply your extensions. Many girls do root touch-ups
while wearing their bonds with no problems or effects to the bonds
at all. Remember that when coloring WHILE WEARING your bonds there
WILL BE NO COLOR CHANGE to any of the hair UNDER the bonds.
THIN HAIR
Using thinner pieces of extension hair along with your own will
give you a consistent look once you’re finished.
Thinner hair may require some extra concealing by backcombing the
hair right above the hair extension bond to create a thicker cover.
The process frees you to make very small thin bonds (like the size
of a toothpick) for places you choose to have discreet bonds, like
under your bangs or attached to those small "baby hairs"
that do never seem to grow :)
Thinner hair may require thinner bonds such as this, but the hair
extension bond and system is versatile, allowing you to control
the size and width of your bond. A bond will wear after washing
and sleeping with them a few times, so even if you think you may
have created a too large a bond, you will find it much smaller after
a few days, with no shedding!
WEARING
You should feel very comfortable wearing your MANEMAXX DIY hair
extensions.
There is no pain involved in this hair extension system.
Although the TemBond® you'll use to attach your hair extension
becomes very secure, care needs to be taken when brushing and styling
hair extensions. The bond was developed to be secure, yet gentle,
and almost flexible.
A bond that feels stiffer and "crunchy" right after application
will wear as you wash and sleep in them.
A heating pad can be used to gently form the bonds for instant
comfort! After 2-3 washings and a few nights of sleep, you will
notice your bonds have become smoother, they will have formed to
the shape of your head, you will actually, at times, and eventually,
forget they are even there!
NOTE: Something to be aware of while applying, for wearing, is
the amount of bond you use. Unlike fusion methods of applying strand-by-strand,
the TemBond® allows you to tweak the size of your bundles for
the areas to which you are attaching. You will have better wear
and even more comfort with smaller bonds. Most of the time we start
off using more TemBond® than we need, but then get the hang
of it or begin to trust the security of even very tiny bonds we
make throughout.
For example, in this photo:
 |
The bonds on the left are at
least twice the size they need be. The smaller, shorter bonds
on the right hold just as well and are more consistant with
the most comfortable, unseen wear of the bond. The wearer
on the right still reports absolute comfort with her bonds,
so imagine if they were nice and small.
It is important to follow the instructions
to see no bond loss or extension hair shedding. |
Another note from the photo above. You can see that little flat
area pinched around the root? After applying these can be gently
rolled around those root hairs while the bond feels somewhat flexible.
You never want to force a solid bond, though, and risk cracking
it.
Even when the application steps are strayed from a bit as in he
photo, the bonds will hold and wear to a nice round shape as in
the photo on the right. Throughout your wear you can roll and mold
the bonds gently to shape them to your preference.

COLOR (Find full color list
and length help here.)
Choose a hair extension color from our list that will best blend
with the dominant color of your current hair.
It may help you to stop by a local salon and have them give you
an idea what colors best match your hair.
Take advantage of adding a highlight or lowlight piece to your
kit for blending if your hair contains 2 or more dominant colors.
Don't think it is difficult to match a color. As long as your color
is within a shade or 2, the strand method will blend the extension
hair with your own for unnoticable wear!
Choosing a highlight or 2, if you have them in your own hair, increases
your unnoticable blend and your hair will look amazing!
LENGTH
12 inches will typically fall upper to mid-breast and 20 inches
will fall lower stomach and lower-back area.
If you are unsure about length you can always order a longer piece,
then cut it down an inch or two below the weft when applying.
To get a general idea of your finished length, take a tape measure
and begin about your ear. Looking in a mirror, pull it down to 12
inches, 16 inches and 20 inches in front of your shoulder.
It's important to remember that as you go to longer lengths the
weight of the hair also grows.
If you are concerned with comfort, or just pulling depending on
the condition of your own hair, go shorter lengths.
Also, keep in mind the length of your own hair. It's a good idea
to try to add around 2 - 4 inches to your own hair for blending
purposes. You can add more if you like, but keep in mind the finished
look as some of your shorter hair will be on top of your longer
hair. The hair extensions can also be cut to produce a great finished
look.
The more length you add, the more extension hair you will need
to produce a natural look. A package and 1/2 is always suggested
when adding lengths of 16-20 inch hair. The thicker your own hair
is, the more extension hair you will need to produce a natural-looking,
finished result.
For more on the amount of extension hair you will need, go here.
BRUSHING
The MANEMAXX DIY hair extension bond is somewhat set just shortly
after applying.
We recommend you wait until your finished to brush and style your
hair extensions. As in other hair extension processes, such as glue
bond and fusion, braids and sew-in weft, you do won't want to brush
the area the hair extension attaches throughout your wear.
Combing your hair gently with a combing is recommended above brushing
with a hair brush.
SLEEPING
You may sleep in your MANEMAXX DIY hair extensions. A loose braid
or ponytail is recommended to keep from tangling.
WASHING
You may wash the hair extensions and carefully dry your hair extensions.
NOTE: Your hair extension hair will stay cleaner than your natural
hair so there is not a need to wash them as often. You can use dry
shampoo products or even just wash your own hair on top while leaving
your extension hair and bonds dry.
If you are looking for longer wear keep your washing with hair
extensions at 1-2 times per week, although we have many reporting
daily washing with no compromise of the bonds.
We recommend you remove all the hair extensions once every few
months so you can clean and maintain your own hair and scalp, remove
tangles, etc. AND give your head a GOOD scrub, but this is up to
you.
This do it yourself hair extension system makes it easy and inexpensive
for you to take out and reapply your hair extensions so that you
can keep your own hair and scalp extra clean and healthy.
Although you wouldn't need any special shampoos or conditioners,
we highly recommend you use oil free shampoo's and conditioners.
We do not recommend leave-in conditioners or product on the bonds
themselves, although product kept on your hair and extension hair
is fine.
Before you wash, detangle your hair and the extension hair from
the ends to roots. Brush or comb your hair extensions before washing,
while your hair is dry. Wash your hair carefully, do not scrub or
twist the hair extensions. Use lukewarm water and mild shampoo and
conditioner. Carefully pat your hair dry, NEVER rub or twist the
hair extensions into a towel.
Also note when washing: water adds weight to the extension hair
so to eliminate unnecessary stress to your own hair it is a good
idea to wash it with a loose ponytail and/or set the extension hair
on your shoulder while it's wet.
Feel free to use a hairdryer away from the bonds, and comb very
carefully.
SWIMMING
Yes, you may swim in your hair extensions. The TemBond® is
water resistant. We don't recommend hours in the pool or ocean and
constant wet hair for super long periods of time.
As in the above, to eliminate the water weight from adding stress
to your own hair, and to prevent tangles, wear a loose pony or a
braid when swimming.
You'll want to let your hair dry completely before pulling or brushing
to keep from tearing at your hair and bond. Untangle with your fingers
or carefully with a wide toothcomb while you dry your hair. Please
note that chlorine may dry out, and thus effect the texture of,
your extension hair. Also, too long periods of time in the water
may cause bonds to shed.
HEAT
The bonds are created to be secure, but not so secure you have
to have metal tools, chemicals, gooey removers or professional assistance
to remove them. In high heat your bonds may soften. This is supposed
to happen. The heat does not harm your bonds or compromise the integrity
of your bond. The bonds will never "melt" out due to high
heat or direct sun. It may be different than what you are used to
with more "cemented" methods such as fusion or hot glues,
but once you realize your extensions are very secure, and in light
of the fact you are not harming, and losing, your own hair with
extension wear, you will be pleased! Don't pull at your extensions
in 150+ degrees (like in a suana for example.) Wait until you have
returned to a cooler temperature until you brush, or tug, at your
extensions.
TANGLES
You shouldn't have any issues with tangles with this hair extension
system. It is recommended you flat iron your hair before installing
to keep hairs from wrapping around your individual strands and bonds.
When wearing your extensions for 3-4 months you will want to remove,
and comb out, areas that have tangled at the root.
LOSING PIECES, HAIR FALL OUT
1) Your hair and 2) the hair extension.
You shed about 100 strands of your own hair per day. While wearing
your hair extensions most of these will be held in a bond.
Depending on how many days you wear your hair extensions, you may
see your shed hair when you remove the extensions. Never has this
because of the bond. The TemBond® does not attach to your hair
like glues and pre-tipped extensions. It seeps through and around
the hairs and attaches to itself to form the safe, secure bond in
your hair.
Shed hairs have a small, hard bead at the base. Broken hairs do
not have this hard bulb and hair that has been pulled from its base
has a sticky, living end on it.
Second, the extensions themselves.
The hold of the TemBond® is amazing! I have been out in some
heavy wind, swimming pools, and had to endure my 2-year-old's hair
pulling and have not had one piece come out of my hair.
And there is NO SHEDDING OF THE EXTENSION HAIR. You'll be able
to follow our concise instructions on forming a very secure bond
for your own hair. Some hair extension systems defeat the purpose
and you struggle with a self-concious worry that your clip-in extensions
will slip out, or your hair extension tape will become loose, etc.
You will be able to tell by the time you finish the TemBond®
application that your extension hair is VERY secure and you need
not worry about your hair extensions falling out. Some of the hair
extension bond will wear away with each washing thus loosening an
extension or two, this depends on your application and usually only
happens after a few weeks of washing. Having your hair extension
bond-warmer ready to go allows you to replace your hair extensions
very quickly when styling! Our tips sheet in your do-it-yourself
hair extension kit has more information on securing a bond.
REMOVAL 2 options, so easy it is unbelievable.
No chemicals or tools.
1. Simply break the bond to loose it, brush, and wash it away!
2. Heat. Place a hot, flat iron on your bonds for a few seconds
to remove them, shampoo to remove residue.
Hair extension removal instructions are included in your kit.
