Extension Hair Lengths
How Long Should I Wear My Extension Hair?
When deciding on and choosing how long you want your extension hair, you’ll want to keep in mind the length of your own hair because it’s a good idea to try to add 2 to 4 inches to your own hair for blending purposes. You can add more if you like, but keep in mind the finished look. Your shorter hairs will be on top of the longer extension hair for covering attachment areas.
To accomplish a general idea of how long 16 inch, 18 inch, 20 inch hair extensions will look, use a tape measure.
You can hold the tape measure to begin just above your ear. When you are looking in a mirror, pull it down 14, 18 and 22 inches (begin mid ear) in front of your shoulder. If you’d like to see the back, have someone help you and pull the tape measure down to the desired length.
These methods will help you judge how long the extension hair to look. Typically a taller person will look better in much longer hair but the same length might shorten a more petite figure. Decide on the range you’d like the extension hair to fall and where your finished result should be and you’ll have a good idea of what length extension hair you want to get.
Available Lengths in ManeMaxx® Extension Hair
ManeMaxx® Extension Hair comes in 5 length ranges for results varying from the shoulder to below the waistline. You can choose a look that’s subtle and unnoticeable, only adding volume to your fine hair or one that is dramatic, adding hair so long it would shock those who know you!
12 inches: Extension hair this long will usually fall upper-breast and about the shoulder-blade area in the back. This varies slightly depending on how tall you are.
14 inches: Extension hair this length will usually fall mid-breast and about the bra-strap area in the back. This varies slightly depending on how tall you are.
18 inches: Extension hair this long will fall around your lower breast to upper stomach and your lower-back area. Results will vary slightly depending on how tall you are.
22 inches: Extension hair this length will fall near waistline for most but your final result will depend on how tall you are.
26 inches: Extension hair this long will fall around the hip area for most but your final result will depend on how tall you are.
Be sure your own natural hair is long enough. Only an inch or so is needed for attaching but at least 3-4 inches will give you hair for covering your TemBond®’s.
It’s important to remember that, as you go to longer lengths, the weight of the hair also gets heavier. If you are concerned with comfort, or just pulling depending on the condition of your own hair, go shorter lengths.
Also, the hair extensions can also be cut as applied for layering, or when you are done, to produce a great finished and styled look with the hair extensions. (You can see how the hair extensions are cut and applied in this article here.)
